Maternity Friendly Activewear
Being almost 38 weeks pregnant, it’s difficult to find regular workout clothing that I can fit into, yet wear after giving birth. Call me frugal, but I refuse to shell out money on clothing that I’ll only wear for a few more weeks. So when I put on the Nimble Short from Stonewear Designs, I was elated to find that it fit my pregnant body, even though it’s not part of a maternity line.
The short is the perfect blend of polyester and spandex, making it comfortable, breathable, and sturdy. I took a long walk in the shorts on a sunny spring afternoon and I stayed quite cool even though the temperature was in the upper 80’s and the material was black. As I’m on the shorter side (5’2″) I thought the short would be too long on me, but they fell just below my knees, which is where I usually like my workout shorts to be anyway since I’ll be getting back into climbing soon. I have a tendency to hit my knees on the rocks quite a bit.
There is also a drawstring at the waist to make the short tighter or looser. Currently, I wear them a little loose so that the waist band can sit below my belly. However, I like the idea that I can wear them much tighter once I have my baby girl and get back on the rocks. I’m so glad to have ordered these shorts and look forward to bringing them on more adventures in the coming months!
