Jeline Guiles’ Resolution: Get Back into Pre-Pregnancy Bouldering Shape
December is quickly coming to a close, so as we say goodbye to 2012 , we here at Stonewear are thinking about how to make 2013 an even better year. We consulted our Ambassadors and Grassroots Team Members to get their opinions on New Year’s resolutions and to ask them what kinds of goals or projects they have planned for the new year. Have questions or comments for our ambassadors? Connect on Facebook.
Stonewear Grassroots Team Member Jeline Guiles writes:
My new year’s resolution is to get back into bouldering shape for the 2013 bouldering season (typically late fall/early winter) once I give birth to my baby girl in the spring. This should give me enough time to follow through with a workout routine.
My plan is to allow my body enough time to heal after the birthing process, then begin to slowly work on my endurance and stamina while losing the baby weight. I’ll probably begin with running, since my core will need time to build up, mixed with yoga. Once I feel ready, I plan on rope climbing to get back the hand strength I’ll have lost before doing any intense bouldering.
Once I have some bouldering power back, I can then work on power endurance which requires lots of climbing sessions.
I hope to take more bouldering trips by next fall and can’t wait to introduce our little one to the outdoors!
